Privacy
This page describes, in plain language, what we hold and who can see it. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer, and we will not claim otherwise.
What we hold
Your name, email, age, city and neighbourhood, the Shabbat and kashrut preferences you choose to give us, your photo if you add one, and your record of dinners hosted and attended. If you apply rather than joining by code, we hold the application you submitted.
Who can see what
Your exact address, group chat link and phone number are never visible to the community. A host sees your request and the details you chose to share when you asked for a seat. A community admin can see member records in order to run the community and review reports. Allergy information is recorded separately and is shown only to the host reviewing your request.
Your choices
You control who sees your photo, whether you appear in the guest directory, and whether you share a phone number with a particular host or guest. Sharing a phone number is off by default and is decided per dinner.
Files you upload
Photographs and any documents you upload are stored privately and are reachable only through signed, time-limited links after a permission check on our server.
Deletion
You can ask for your account to be deleted from your profile, and a community admin will process the request. Some records are kept in a reduced form where we are obliged to, for example the history of a dinner that other people also attended.
We email you about your account, your seat requests and the dinners you are part of. If you tell us you observe Shabbat, automated email is held back and never sent during your local Shabbat.
Awaiting legal review
This notice is an honest description of our current practice, not a formal privacy policy that has been through legal review. We are not claiming compliance with any particular regulation, and this page will be replaced once a reviewed policy is in place.
